UC Funds’ hires Catherine Oniffrey as Head of Capital Markets

Boston, MA – April 18, 2018 – UC Funds, a vertically-integrated commercial real estate specialty finance firm, recently announced the launch of its first New York City office to support the launch and execution of its new business line to expand opportunities in traditional and new commercial real estate markets and establish new relationships with banking and capital markets partners. To facilitate the process, UC Funds recently hired Catherine Oniffrey as Head of Capital Markets to oversee UC Funds’ new Manhattan branch, effective March 5, 2018. Additionally, Rosemarie McElwee Console has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.

The firm is utilizing four critical business lines, traditional products, assets, capital markets, and new products to move this expansion forward. UC Funds’ capability and infrastructure for origination, underwriting, servicing, and asset management will appeal to banks, pension funds, insurance companies, and other entities seeking exposure in New York real estate at a higher capital stack.

The new hire of Head of Capital Markets, Catherine Oniffrey has over 30 years of experience in commercial banking, finance, and investment, at companies such as Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group, and Centennial Bank. She most recently served as Managing Director at Centennial Property Finance. In her new position, Oniffrey will oversee core business development and strategic initiatives to further UC Funds’ funding strategy. She will execute and manage financial transactions in the New York space, as well as drive new sponsor development. Oniffrey will be based out of UC Funds’ new branch office in New York City, located at 12 East 49 Street, Tower 49.

As Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Rosemarie McElwee Console will lead the effort to organize and expand UC Funds’ revenue. Console has broad experience in business development,  product launching, and marketing strategy in real estate, education, and software and data markets. Her recent experience includes high-level positions at O’Neill Properties Group LP, McGraw-Hill Education, and Thomson Learning. Console will work across teams at UC Funds to secure revenue opportunities within the commercial real estate space. Console will also manage new business and management at UC Funds’ trophy asset, ONE CLUB Gulf Shores, opening in June 2018.  Console is overseeing new product positioning, marketing, sales, and golf revenue streams for UC Funds’ renovated multifamily property.
