UC Funds solely presents the summer-long exhibit, displaying a selection of Seward Johnson’s sculptures across Stamford Downtown 

Boston, MA – May 22, 2018 – UC Funds, a vertically-integrated commercial real estate specialty finance firm, announced today its involvement in presenting Timeless – The Works of Seward Johnson. Stamford, Connecticut’s annual Art in Public Places exhibit that will be on display from June through August in Stamford Downtown. Seward Johnson’s renowned sculptures will be placed around the Stamford Business Improvement District’s boundaries on sidewalks, street corners, and in surrounding parks. Timeless – The Works of Seward Johnson will feature one monumental piece and 35 life-size sculptures representing two of Johnson’s well-known collections, Celebrating the Familiar and Icons Revisited. In Celebrating the Familiar, Johnson’s sculptures represent ordinary people engaged in everyday activities. Headlining Johnson’s Icons Revisited collection is Forever Marilyn, the renowned 26-foot-tall and 30,000 pound sculpture capturing Marilyn Monroe in her classic pose from The Seven Year Itch. Stamford is the sixth city in the world to host Forever Marilyn. The iconic sculpture will be installed in Latham Park on June 4 and will remain open to the public through August.

Since 1994, Stamford’s annual Art in Public Places outdoor sculpture exhibition has attracted local and regional audiences. Each year, the summer-long event increases Stamford’s presence as a regional tourism destination, and fosters art appreciation within the diverse community.

The exhibition will kick off with an opening night celebration on Wednesday, June 6, hosted by Stamford Downtown. The event will be held at the Palace Theatre at 61 Atlantic Street from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served at the reception.
