Dan Palmier: Founder & CEO

Dan Palmier is an accomplished CEO and passionate philanthropist with a holistic approach that includes both local and international causes.

For Dan, there is a strong connection between his professional and philanthropic work. With a successful track record in the field of real estate finance, he has built several companies from the ground up. His gift for understanding how to create tremendous value and investor returns has enabled Dan’s support for a wide variety of charitable causes and organizations.

Professional Life

Twenty five years of successful experience in real estate investment and finance has prepared Dan Palmier to become the founder and CEO of UC Funds. Over the last 12 years, UC Funds has invested over $3 billion in real estate funding that averaged nearly 20% in annual returns. This track record has made UC Funds a nationally acclaimed specialty finance company.

Dan earned this leadership experience from previously held roles in real estate and portfolio management. At Lehman Brothers Holdings, he was responsible for $18 billion of partnership investments. While working at Arbor Realty Trust, he headed all credit operations and was part of their public offering road show. Dan was also made Arbor Realty Trust’s first CDO. With the experience gained at these companies, Dan founded Potomac Realty Capital in 2004 and originated over 3 billion in investments.

At Notre Dame University, Dan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He went on to earn his Master’s degree in Real Estate at New York University. He is also a CPA (non-active) and is a proud member of the National Multi-Housing Council and the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association.

Charity Work

Dan Palmier and his ONE foundation have many supported many charitable interests. Working with the Assembly of God Alliance and the Haiti Self Sustainability Project, Dan helped the Aide Aux Enfants Orphanage (AAEO) in St. George, Haiti. The funds he raised were used to purchase clothing for the children, 40 new mattresses and sheets, materials for fixing and constructing bed frames. Money was also raised to purchase electric pump for drawing clean water out of the orphanage’s well. He has also worked to mobilize substantial aid to communities in Haiti with a particular emphasis on cardiac arrest services in Haitian hospitals.

A supporter of several worldwide Christian charities, Dan’s ONE Foundation has donated $325,000 to the Asian Christian Academy in Bangalore India. ONE Foundation’s support has helped to build a school for 2,500 students in grades K-12 and a Christian seminary for 160 students. Other funded projects include a 35 bed hospital, and a mobile medical unit which provides healthcare to the surrounding villages. Funding has also been raised to create the first Christian University in the area.

Closer to home, the ONE Foundation has supported the One Fund Boston, a foundation that was established to help the families affected by the bombing of the Boston Marathon in 2013. Other non-profits include the Lieutenant Walsh – Firefighter Kennedy Memorial Fund, and Friends of Wellesley METCO, Inc.

Dan has also participated in the Jimmy Fund walk and has run the 2017 Marine Corps Marathon for Intervol. He has also raised support for charitable causes by running in the Boston Marathon from 2014-2016.
